Bella Chwasta is the Assistant Curator of the Australian Music Vault and Australian Performing Arts Collection – the country’s largest and most important collection of performing arts history and tradition, now home to just under 800,000 items relating to circus, dance, music, opera and theatre.

Bella was our special guest on Big Brekky to talk about her role, their new Strength in Sound display, and the Mushroom: 50 Years of Making Noise short film in The Amplifier.
With a Master of Arts and Cultural Management from the University of Melbourne, Bella has worked across various galleries – locally and internationally – including Science Gallery London, No Vacancy Gallery, the Ian Potter Museum of Art and the Museums and Collections faculty at the University of Melbourne.

As a researcher and exhibitions curator, Bella is interested in engaging multiple communities with museum collections and displaying thought-provoking exhibitions that explore the multitude of stories in Australian contemporary music.
