John Waters, who was born in London, is an accomplished singer, musician, respected television, film, and theatre actor that has chosen Australia as his home since 1968.
John, however, is more than an actor. His is an accomplished singer who started out in London-based blues band, The Riots. When he emigrated to Australia, he landed the lead role of Claude in the 1969 Sydney production of the rock musical, Hair. John then followed up with the role of Judas in Godspell. This also led on to more theatre roles such as Jesus Christ Superstar, The Sound of Music, A Little Night Music, and many more.
John was in Melbourne to perform in his show “The John Lennon Songbook”, with Stewart A’Rrietta, and The Liverpool Band. This show celebrates the 50th anniversary since the release of IMAGINE – the whole album will be performed live by John Waters and his band – a band that has toured the world performing the songs of John Lennon to great acclaim.
