The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent statutory agency. Their role is to implement the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which will support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers. The NDIS can provide all people with disability with information and connections to services in their communities such as doctors, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as information about what support is provided by each state and territory government.
Shannon Rees, NDIA Spokesperson said "the Agency was keen to connect with any NDIS participants, particularly those from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds living in the lockdown areas" Shannon discusses the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic within the the community and how NDIA are supporting their vulnerable participants during this time.
