Peter Cullen is the Founder of Reclink Australia, Peter has served as a Director since 1990. Having initially trained for Catholic Priesthood and working for the Sacred Heart Mission for over 15 years, Peter has always been passionate about improving the lives of people experiencing disadvantage through sport and arts. An avid Geelong supporter, Peter is married with three children and has been a recipient of numerous awards, including an Order of Australia Medal (2000), Centenary Medal (2003), Sports Chaplaincy Australia Award for Compassion in Sport (2011), Sports Star of the Year (Southern Region Services to Sport (2001) and Tattersall’s Award for Enterprise and Achievement (1997).
He has also co written four books - Voices of the Street, Coach, Tails of the Inner Sanctum and Olympic Spirit. Peter and Phil yarns with Gman. Most of Phil’s Morley’s working career has been in Melbourne, although there have been stints in London and throughout Asia. The move to Reclink in 2017 follows Phil’s passion for local community health and wellbeing that he practices after hours. Founder of a netball club 12 years ago he is still President, coach and player. At Reclink Phil is the Acting CEO, stepping into the role and still keeping a close eye his usual responsibilities of finance and corporate services.
If Phil can keep the engine at the back of Reclink ticking along smoothly, it enable people like Peter and the national team of sport and recreation coordinators to do their great work in the field; improving the lives of the many people that need Reclink as a pathway to improving physical and mental health through being active and connected. NEWSFLASH... Reclink Australia appoints new CEO Chair of Reclink Australia, Michael Brown is pleased to announce Dave Wells as the new CEO of Reclink Australia. Dave brings over 17 years of experience as a senior leader and executive, most recently as General Manager Innovation, Impact and Government Affairs at Melbourne City Mission. Brown said “The Board and I welcome Dave Wells as the new CEO of Reclink Australia. We look forward to him building on our existing national programs as we continue to ‘include the unincluded’. Wells has extensive relationships with governments, the community sector, and developing commercial partnerships.
“I am excited to contribute to Reclink and our mission. I look forward to working with staff, partners, and the Board to develop and implement new ideas and innovations. Together we will strengthen and grow Reclink and increase our national impact.” Wells said.
Wells’ appointment comes after a rigorous external recruitment process of over 130 applications for this highly sought-after role. The Board would like to acknowledge and thank Acting CEO, Phil Morley, for his outstanding work during these difficult Covid-19 times and look forward to him continuing with Reclink in a soon to be announced elevated role.
