Reservoir Neighbourhood House Inc is an incorporated not-for-profit community organisation. RNH’s mission is to provide a welcoming community space that fosters and promotes the prosperity and well-being of local residents. We bring people together to develop and encourage employment prospects, support health and well-being and enhance belonging. The Reservoir Neighbourhood House is a place where everyone is welcome to learn and actively participate in building their community life.
Reservoir Neighbourhood House is one of the only purpose-built Neighbourhood Houses in Victoria and was opened to the community in July 2009. Funding came from many different sources and represents a unique collaboration between PRACE and State, Federal and Local governments. PRACE auspiced the House and oversaw the building and development for the community.
Building on this experience, in 2013 Reservoir Neighbourhood House made the transition to fully independent community management.
Community dream unfolding…
With input and support from the community, in 2012 an interim Board of Management was established and worked on the legalities of incorporation. This section of the work was successfully completed and by mid 2013 Reservoir Neighbourhood House became fully independent with an enthusiastic, competent Board of Management.
